Shane Atkinson’s feature directorial debut, the can’t-miss comedic thriller LaRoy, Texas is all set to hit theaters and digital platforms on April 12th.
Starring John Magaro (Past Lives, First Cow), Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club, “The White Lotus”), and Dylan Baker (Dream Scenario, The Good Wife/Good Fight), Atkinson directs from his own original script, crafting a serpentine plot centered around down-and-out protagonist Ray (Magaro). When Ray mistakenly receives an envelope full of cash intended for a ruthless hitman, he finds himself caught up in a case of mistaken identity. Ray turns to his private investigator friend Skip (Zahn), to try and escape the clutches of the real assassin who will stop at nothing to reclaim the cash.
Anticipating the film’s release, CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman and Ashley Northey interviewed Baker who provided insightful commentary into the unconventional narrative techniques, unpredictable characters, and heightening catastrophes in his much-anticipated new movie.
