A24 has released the official first look teaser for The Death of Robin Hood, offering a bleak glimpse at the upcoming reimagining of the legendary outlaw from writer-director Michael Sarnoski (Pig, A Quiet Place: Day One).
Led by Hugh Jackman (Logan, Les Misérables) in the title role, the film takes a darker and more introspective approach to Robin Hood lore, drawing inspiration from the centuries-old tale “Robin Hood’s Death.”
The newly released teaser leans heavily into the film’s bleak atmosphere with a battle-worn Robin confronting the consequences of a lifetime shaped by violence. Alongside Jackman, the cast includes Jodie Comer (28 Years Later, The Bikeriders), Bill Skarsgård (It, Nosferatu), Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”, “All The Sinners Bleed”), and Noah Jupe (Hamnet, A Carpenter’s Son).
According to the official synopsis, the story follows Robin Hood after he is severely wounded in battle and forced to confront his past. In his final chapter, he encounters a mysterious woman who may hold the key to redemption.
Sarnoski wrote and directed the project, with producers Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and Alexander Black attached. A24 previously secured U.S. distribution rights following a competitive acquisition at the Marché du Film.
The Death of Robin Hood is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 19.
