Now in it’s 6th year Grimmfest, Manchester’s very own horror festival, is taking place from the 2nd to 5th October. The team behind the festival dropped some very exciting news as the festival will be headlined by Italian 70’s progressive rock legends CLAUDIO SIMONETTI’S GOBLIN who will be performing a live score to Dario Argento‘s horror classic Suspiria. This amazing event will take place in The Dancehouse Theatre on Friday 3rd October and will be followed by a screening of Dario Argento’s cut of Dawn of the Dead.
In the run up to the festival in October team Grimmfest will host a season of ‘run up titles’ to get festival goers in the mood. These will run throughout September with the first of these events is a special screening of WHITE SETTLERS starring Pollyanna McIntosh (The Woman) which will preview from 15th – 18th September. The second preview is the world premiere of DEVIL’S TOWER which stars Jason Mewes (Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back) and will be shown on September 10th. Each preview night will run with a selection of the best new Horror short films from around the world.
The full Grimmfest 2014 programme will be announced on 30th August and full festival passes and tickets for Goblin and other preview events go on sale on 8th August at 9am. For further information please visit the festival website here.
