Chilling Debut ‘MAN FINDS TAPE’ to Haunt Tribeca Festival with Small-Town Supernatural Horror

A chilling new voice in supernatural horror is set to make its debut at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival with Man Finds Tape, the first feature from Texas-born filmmakers Peter Hall and Paul Gandersman.

Written and directed by Hall and Gandersman, Man Finds Tape tells an eerie tale rooted in the haunting quiet of small-town Texas. The film centers on Lucas Page, a YouTuber who gains viral fame with a mysterious video series that he claims is made up of old home movies from his childhood. But as online skepticism mounts, Lucas presents his estranged sister, Lynn, with shocking new footage: a broad-daylight murder captured on surveillance in the heart of their hometown, Larkin, Texas.

What begins as a reluctant sibling reunion soon spirals into something far darker. As Lucas and Lynn investigate the mysterious death, they uncover long-buried secrets about their community – including a sinister supernatural presence that has silently plagued Larkin for generations, all linked to the town’s charismatic and unsettling reverend.

The cast includes Kelsey Pribilski, William Magnuson, John Gholson, Brian Villalobos, and Nell Kessler. Shot with a distinctive narrative style and infused with a palpable sense of dread, Man Finds Tape blends found-footage aesthetics with raw character drama to deliver a horror experience that feels both intimate and otherworldly.

The film is produced by David Lawson Jr, Aaron Moorhead, Justin Benson, Ashley Landavazo, executive produced by C. Robert Cargill, Jessica Cargill, Nate Bolotin, Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian, Maxime Cottray, James Shapiro and co-produced by Kristen Bell.

The film will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival next month, with screening details available on the Tribeca Film Festival website.
