Principal photography has concluded on “Cassie Workman is Witchy AF,” a new adult comedic documentary series that promises to explore the world of occultism and magic in an unconventional way. The series, hosted and created by Australian comedian Cassie Workman, has finished its on-location filming in Asbury Park, utilizing the unique settings of the Wolfe & Kron bookstore and the historic Georgies gay bar.
The production brings together a notable team of executive producers, including Lilly Wachowski and Sarah Marie Flores under their newly formed Anarchists United Studios, and Will Battersby and Philip Gelatt of Etch Productions, alongside Lawrence Mattis of Circle Management + Production. This project marks the first production to go into production for Wachowski’s Anarchists United Studios.
“Cassie Workman is Witchy AF” delves into the history and philosophy of occultism, covering topics ranging from Aleister Crowley and John Dee to the secret history of Hollywood and Santa Muerte. The series employs a distinctive visual style, incorporating puppetry from Direct Message, with marionette puppet sequences designed and directed by Joel Goulet for Direct Message, and practical SFX make-up from Monster in My Closet (Smile 2, Hocus Pocus).
Behind the camera, Hannah Welever directed the series, with Frederic Fasano serving as Director of Photography.
This series is the second production that Etch productions has financed and produced since it’s founding in 2024. Etch productions also has the documentary series called “First Word on Horror” currently in release on Substack, and has plans to release a remastered 1990’s era cable access show in the fall of 2025. Anarchists United Studios is also currently in development on Hell Followed With Us, an animated feature with Line Mileage and Trustbridge Entertainment.
