BAFTA-Nominated British filmmaker Vika Evdokimenko‘s comedic short film Truth Serum will become available worldwide on Omeleto this coming June 17.
Directed by Evdokimenko, from a script written by Writer/Producer Oliver Shuster (BAFTA-Nominated Aamir), Truth Serum features an all-star British cast including Richard Gadd (“Baby Reindeer”), Umi Myers (Bob Marley: One Love), Sophie Kennedy Clark (Nymphomaniac, The Danish Girl), Olivia Vinall (Road Kill), Killian Coyle (Normal People), Danny Ashok (Feel Good) and Miranda Beinart-Smith (Notes on Blindness). The film tells the story of guests at a housewarming party who unknowingly ingest a mysterious drug. Of course, when ugly truths start flying around, chaos reigns and threatens the relationships of old friends.
Truth Serum was cast by Timothy Evans. Oliver Shuster, Timothy Evans, Frankie Fogg and Vika Evdokimenko were producers on the film.
Evdokimenko, a British director with Jewish-Ukrainian roots graduated from Cambridge University and attended the NYU Grad Film program where she was mentored by Rebecca Miller and Spike Lee. Her commercial work has been nominated for the AICP and Porsche Advertising Awards and her shorts have been screened at over 50 film festivals worldwide. Vika’s BAFTA-nominated short Aamir was shot by Robbie Ryan (Poor Things), whilst I Don’t Need Adult Conversation was one of BFI’s #MadeofTruth grantees. Her upcoming short BORSCHT has received The Uncertain Kingdom Belief grant. Vika is a lecturer at the University of London, a Yaddo Colony fellow and a member of the British Academy. She is the founder of AnfanTerrible, a production company that aims to tell stories which inspire meaningful change.
Gadd is currently working on the six-part BBC drama series “Lions” following two men across the decades from Banijay U.K. label Mam Tor Productions.
