Brand-New Bangers: Noteworthy Nods 2024 – Batch 24

Following a brief summer holiday hiatus, we’re excited to share our latest, most comprehensive roundup of our favorite new music releases from the past few weeks. There has been no shortage of fantastic new music from artists while we’ve been away, making the process of narrowing down our top picks simultaneously enjoyable and daunting. But, after much deliberation, we think we come up with a a genuinely eclectic selection of fresh tracks that’s as rewarding as it is addictive.

Our last Noteworthy Nods playlist featured the 20 best tracks of the year so far in 2024 (which you can listen to here), whilst this week’s list features brand new releases from the likes of The Howl & The Hum, with their single ‘All Your Friend’s Hate Me’ taken from the band’s second studio album “Same Mistake Twice” which just dropped today; The Barratts with ‘Garden Hopping’ from their upcoming EP “Holding Up The Queue,” out on October 4th; and Greebo with their feisty rocker “London City,” which muses on both the drag and allure of living in the city. Additionally, Shed Seven has released a new orchestrated interpretation of ‘Chasing Rainbows’, coinciding with the imminent release of their 30th anniversary retrospective album, “Liquid Gold”, while Manic Street Preachers harness the past to propel it into the future with the rousing anthem ‘Decline & Fall’, coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of their seminal 1994 album, “The Holy Bible.”

Spreading the word and showing support for up-and-coming bands is a crucial part of the music community, and we’re always eager to help facilitate that connection between artists and fans. When you discover a new band that you’ve been enjoying from our playlists and recommendations, taking a moment to share your enthusiasm on social media can make a world of difference for those rising musicians. A simple tweet, Instagram post, or retweet may seem small, but it goes a long way in amplifying their reach and helping them build their fanbase. These small gestures of support don’t cost a penny, yet they provide invaluable validation and exposure for artists who are working tirelessly to get their music heard. And we’re always grateful when our readers pay that kindness forward by sharing their own discoveries with us.

Whether you reach out on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, our team, including Howard Gorman who keeps his DMs open for recommendations, is eager to hear about the new acts you’re excited about. By joining forces to highlight the talents of musicians you love, we can play a part in helping them gain the recognition and support they deserve as they continue to develop their craft and bring creative new sounds to the forefront of the music industry.

And please don’t forget to show some love for fresh tunes and rising stars by hitting those share buttons. A little social media boost goes a long way for up-and-comers. And we’d love to hear anysuggestions from you over on InstagramFacebook, or Twitter. You can also contact Howard directly on Twitter here where his DM door is always wide open.

Aside from the aforementioned track recommendations, our Noteworthy section includes weekly videocast interviews featuring musical talent we hope are either already or, about to become your new favorite artists. You can watch/rewatch all previous episodes via the video playlist (here) featuring the likes of CastShambolics, The Howl & The Hum, Shed SevenTurin BrakesEmbraceRed Rum ClubThe K’sThe SherlocksThe Slow Readers ClubStanleysThe NativeThe Clause, and many more.
