Radio Silence – the directing duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett behind Ready or Not, and the two most recent Scream movies — are back with a brash, blood-thirsty new take on vampire tropes with their latest film, Abigail. In anticipation of the film’s imminent release, this April 19, Universal Pictures has dropped a second trailer for their brash and bloodthirsty shocker.

Directed by Radio Silence, from a screenplay written by Stephen Shields (The Hole in the GroundZombie Bashers) and Guy Busick (Scream franchise, Ready or Not), the film chronicles how a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure. All they need to do if they want to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. But, holed up in a remote mansion, the kidnappers start disappearing one after the other and, to their mounting dismay, they soon realize that they’re not just trapped inside with an ordinary little girl.

Abigail stars Melissa Barrera (Scream franchise, In the Heights), Dan Stevens (GaslitLegion), Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaFreaky), William Catlett (Black LightningTrue Story), Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Retribution, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Angus Cloud (EuphoriaNorth Hollywood) as the kidnappers and Alisha Weir (Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, Darklands) as Abigail.

The film is produced by William Sherak (Scream franchise, Ready or Not), Paul Neinstein (Scream franchise; executive producer, The Night Agent) and James Vanderbilt (ZodiacScream franchise) for Project X Entertainment, by Tripp Vinson (Ready or NotJourney 2: The Mysterious Island) and by Radio Silence’s Chad Vilella (executive producer Ready or Not and Scream franchise). Ron Lynch and Macdara Kelleher serve as Executive Producers.

Abigail will release exclusively in cinemas on April 19 this year and, in the meantime, we’ll leave you to dig your teeth into the aforementioned second trailer.
