Thirty years into their storied career, Shed Seven are currently riding a fresh wave of Maximum High. After a landmark 2024 that saw them claim back-to-back UK Number 1s with A Matter Of Time and Liquid Gold, the York mainstays are in the definitive form of their lives.
Now, marking three decades since the release of A Maximum High – along with the evergreen appeal of ‘Chasing Rainbows’ – the band have confirmed the return of their iconic winter ritual: Shedcember X, which will take the band on a celebratory victory lap across the UK this November and December
Marking the tenth edition of the band’s much-loved festive fixture, Shed Seven have also shared a video message with fans (see below). Written and directed by the band’s guitarist, Paul Banks, it neatly captures the spirit of their shows, along with a clear sense of the regard they hold for their dedicated fanbase.
Speaking on the tour’s return, frontman Rick Witter promised a communal blowout for the ages: “We can’t wait to get out there up and down the UK and soak up what is a unique atmosphere at a Shed Seven gig. Expect the big hits along with a few surprises and the thrill of us all singing our hearts out together for a couple of hours. See you down the front.”
Each night, the band will deliver career-spanning sets, leaning heavily on their anthem-rich back catalogue. Expect heavy hitters such as ‘Going For Gold’, ‘Disco Down’ and ‘On Standby’, alongside more recent hits, and the inevitable, communal “chantalong” of ‘Chasing Rainbows’.
Adding additional weight to the bill are special guests, The Academic. The Irish outfit, who’ve been busy dominating the charts in their home country with a string of Number 1 records.
Thirty years on from A Maximum High and Shed Seven are still going strong – arguably stronger than ever, and Shedcember X looks set to be the biggest, loudest party they’ve thrown yet.
Tickets for the Shedcember X dates go on sale at 10 am this Friday (April 24), and if you’re looking to get ahead of the crowd, fans can get pre-sale access from 10 am on Wednesday, April 22 by signing up to the band’s mailing list.
