Blue Finch Films Drops Teaser for Imposters, Caleb Phillips’ Twist-Heavy Sci-Fi Thriller

Imposters movie trailer

Blue Finch Films has unveiled the teaser trailer for Imposters, the mind-bending sci-fi/thriller feature debut of writer-director Caleb Phillips. The film is set to make its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on Sunday, March 15.

The story follows a couple whose baby boy is taken, leaving the mother devastated. When she learns of a way to bring him back, she seizes the chance. But after the child returns, her husband begins to suspect that the boy she brought home may not actually be their son.

Imposters stars Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), and Yul Vazquez (Severance).

Speaking about the project, Phillips said he set out to create a genre story designed to keep audiences theorizing. “I love genre, and wanted to make a twisty thriller that would satisfy the Mr. Robot, Attack on Titan, and Lost fan in me,” he said. “I wanted to make a movie for people who like guessing twists and obsessing over theories with their friends. I think mystery is one of the most powerful shortcuts to empathy. When it hits, everyone leans forward, and I think it makes us more curious about complicated characters.”

The film is produced by Thomas Bond, Sara Seligman, and Joe Bandelli.
