MUBI has released the teaser trailer for Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, the latest feature from filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow, We’re All Going to the World’s Fair). The film is set to open in U.S. theaters on August 7, 2026.
Led by Emmy-winning actress Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson, the new feature centers on a long-running slasher franchise, Camp Miasma, which is handed to a young director aiming to revive it. When she reconnects with the original film’s now-reclusive star, events spiral into a violent and surreal confrontation that blurs legacy, fandom and identity — continuing Schoenbrun’s exploration of trans identity and queer horror within genre filmmaking.
The ensemble cast also features Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Kevin McDonald, Quintessa Swindell and Jack Haven.
Written and directed by Schoenbrun, the film is produced by Plan B Entertainment. MUBI financed the project and will distribute it in select territories, including North America, Latin America, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Spain, Italy, Turkey, India, Australia and New Zealand. The Match Factory is handling the remaining worldwide sales. Daniel Bekerman serves as executive producer through Scythia Films, which provided local production services.
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma marks Schoenbrun’s third feature, following I Saw the TV Glow and We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. Their previous film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2024 before screening at the Berlin International Film Festival, San Sebastián International Film Festival, and SXSW, later earning multiple nominations at the Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Director, Best Lead Performance and Best Feature.
