David Castañeda Joins Aimee Carrero in Lionsgate & Midnight Pictures’ Untitled Home-Invasion Thriller

Lionsgate and Talking Pictures’ horror label Midnight Pictures have cast David Castañeda (“The Umbrella Academy”, Ballerina) in a leading role in their as-yet-untitled home-invasion thriller. He joins Aimee Carrero (Code 3, “The Consultant”) in the project, which recently wrapped production in Los Angeles.

The film follows Lorena Figueroa (Carrero), a mother still shaken by her 12-year-old son’s recent accident. Their home-security system has become an essential safeguard — a quiet reassurance that someone is watching when she can’t. That sense of stability collapses when masked intruders breach their home, turning the cameras into helpless witnesses as the pair are forced into a tense, real-time fight for survival.

Castañeda plays Ben, Lorena’s husband, who is a doctor.

The feature is directed and produced by Julian Labrádor, who co-wrote the screenplay with Owen Egerton (Whistle, Blood Fest). Revisions were completed by Nathan Elston, who also scripted the upcoming film Other Mommy, the screen adaptation of Josh Malerman’s novel Incidents Around the House.

Producers include Labrádor, Tabitha Shick for Talking Pictures, and Andre Fonseca, with Jeff Robinov, Dan Clifton, and Adam Maffei serving as executive producers. Lauren Bixby, Scott O’Brien, and Allison Lynch are overseeing the project for Lionsgate.

With principal photography now complete, the film moves into post-production, with additional details expected to follow.
