Originally unveiled in 2020 at The Royal Danish Library, Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition offered audiences an unprecedented dive into the creative universe of musician, storyteller, and cultural icon Nick Cave. Now, the exhibition returns as a dynamic, interactive online experience, opening its doors to a global audience for the first time, accompanied by a new audio guide recorded by Cave himself.
The original exhibition brought together more than 300 objects spanning six decades of Cave’s life—personal artifacts, artworks, letters, photographs, and installations—assembled into large-scale displays that blurred the line between biography, autobiography, and fiction. Designed in collaboration with Cave as co-curator and co-designer, the exhibition transformed the Black Diamond space of The Royal Danish Library into an immersive artwork in its own right. It received critical acclaim, with Time Out Magazine naming it one of the world’s must-see cultural events in 2020, before traveling to Montreal, Canada, for a 2022 run at Galerie de la Maison du Festival.
The newly launched virtual exhibition faithfully recreates the physical experience in ultra-high-resolution 3D, allowing visitors worldwide to engage deeply with the extensive archive and newly added material. The digital space features photographs, letters, objects, video, and immersive installations, all accompanied by the exclusive audio guide, recorded in 2025 as a conversation between Cave and co-curator Christina Back. Visitors can navigate the exhibition freely, listening to Cave’s reflections on each piece, while experiencing the original soundscapes composed by Cave and long-time collaborator Warren Ellis.

Elsewhere, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have confirmed details of their new live album, Live God, a stunning document of The Wild God Tour, which captivated audiences across the UK, Europe, and North America in 2024 and 2025. Across 18 live tracks, the album channels the raw, transcendent energy of those unforgettable performances – what Cave himself described as “an antidote to despair.”
Live God is set for release on 5 December and is available to pre-order now on Premium Double Gatefold LP, Double CD, and Digital. The first single, “Wild God (Live God),” is streaming and available for download here.
