‘Scream 7’ Trailer: Kevin Williamson Returns to Direct as Ghostface Targets Sidney’s Daughter

“Hello, Sidney. Did you miss me?”

The ghostly voice that defined a generation is back. Paramount Pictures has debuted the highly anticipated trailer for Scream 7, set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026. With it comes a wave of nostalgia, terror, and new nightmares that could break Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) once and for all.

After a turbulent period behind the scenes, including the departures of directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, followed by Christopher Landon’s brief tenure, Scream 7 has found its footing with Kevin Williamson – writer of the original films – back in the fold to direct a screenplay he wrote with Guy Busick. A turbulent production process, which also saw stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega exit, ultimately gave way to a familiar face, with Neve Campbell confirming her return to the franchise after sitting out Scream VI. With Williamson at the helm and a fresh vision for the series, we’re eager to see where Scream 7 takes us as the franchise moves deeper into its legacy.

The film picks up with Sidney Prescott living a quiet life in a small town, far removed from the horrors that have followed her for years. But when a new Ghostface killer emerges, Sidney’s worst fears are realized when her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the latest target. In a race against time, Sidney must confront the ghosts of her past in order to protect her family and stop the cycle of violence once and for all.

With a mix of returning and new faces, Scream 7 builds on the legacy while introducing new characters caught in the crossfire of Ghostface’s latest rampage including Courteney Cox, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos.

Scream 7 arrives exclusively in theaters February 27, 2026. And as Ghostface himself would say: “Seven times a charm, right? Or is it eight? – The more the sequels, the scarier the stalker.”
