CAST Kick Off New Era with Scruff of the Neck Signing and Surprise Single “Poison Vine”

As if Cast didn’t already have fans feeling more than alright—riding high on their run supporting Oasis on that biblical reunion tour that kicked off last Friday—they lobbed in another bolt-from-the-blue announcement yesterday that no one saw coming.

Taking to their socials, they revealed they’ve officially inked a deal with Manchester independent label Scruff of the Neck. And if you thought that was the big reveal—hold onto your bucket hats — they also confirmed a brand new single, ‘Poison Vine,’ out in the wild today..

The band’s new single sets a brooding, strummy mood before exploding into a soulful chorus, supercharged by London’s First Lady of Soul, P.P. Arnold’s shudder-inducing vocals. The track carries a raw, spiritual urgency that harks back to the intensity of the Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” era, while sharpening Cast’s signature sound with their always fresh, bold ambition. Fearless and brimming with promise, it’s an exciting harbinger of what their 2026 album might unleash.

With this move, Cast slot neatly into Scruff of the Neck’s ever-expanding roster—joining the likes of The Reytons, Bilk, The Slow Readers Club, The View, Corella, Shambolics, and The Lilacs—a line-up that reads like a who’s-who of indie’s next wave (plus a few veterans showing them how it’s done).

Just last year, Cast dropped their seventh studio album, Love Is The Call, a record that blends the energy and ambition of a newly-formed band with the depth and wisdom earned over nearly three decades in the game. Today’s new single bustles with that same infectious energy and melodic punch fans know and love — all while carrying a renewed vibe that promises exciting times ahead.

If 2025 wasn’t already shaping up to be Cast’s most exciting chapter in years, it certainly is now.
