A24 has today unveiled the first official trailer for Materialists, the much-anticipated romantic comedy from Academy Award-nominated writer-director Celine Song (Past Lives). Song brings a fresh and witty take on the complex algorithms of modern love with her latest project, which is set to release in theaters on June 13, 2025.

Materialists stars Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal in a story that centers on a young, ambitious New York City matchmaker. The protagonist finds herself at a crossroads, caught between the allure of a seemingly perfect new match and the unresolved feelings she still harbors for her imperfect ex.

Alongside these big names, the film will also feature Zoë Winters, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson, and Marin Ireland, who were announced as additions to the cast in May 2024.

The film is shot by Antiguan cinematographer Shabier Kirchner using 35mm film. Kirchner previously worked with Song on Past Lives, and his involvement here suggests that Materialists will be just as visually stunning.

Materialists is poised to be one of the most talked-about romantic comedies of 2025 so, don’t miss the trailer to get you excited for Materialists which arrives in theaters on June 13, 2025.
