Blue Fox Entertainment and Blue Fox Entertainment Canada are all wired up and set to release Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story, the latest adventure from the Trailer Park Boys, in theaters across the U.S. and Canada on December 6th. (Update – The film is also set to release exclusively in VUE Cinemas from this Friday 10th January, 2025 in the UK).
Helmed by Charlie Lightening (Liam Gallagher: As It Was), this feature-length mockumentary follows Bubbles and his newly-formed band, The Shitrockers who, after a viral clip of the band hits the internet, land a European tour opening for Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters. However, after traveling from Nova Scotia to Prague, the Shitrockers are quickly kicked off the tour. Forced to resort to busking to survive, the band must find their way back home. Meanwhile, Ricky and Julian must determine how to revive their own dreams, if that is even possible.
The aforementioned Thornton stars alongside the Trailer Park Boys cast members Mike Smith, Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay, and Patrick Roach. It also features special cameos from notable figures such as Martin Freeman, Robert Sheehan (Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy”), the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, and many others.
To celebrate the film’s release this Friday, CinemaChords caught up with the Trailer Park Boys crew to find out if they had survived the rigors of their recent international tour unscathed and were ready to embark on whatever their next extravagant endeavor might be.
