INTERVIEW: Brenna D’Amico Talks ADJOINING’s Unsettling Dissection of Societal Fears Ahead of Screamfest

Harrison Houde and Dakota Daulby‘s chilling new short, Adjoining, is set to make its debut at this year’s prestigious Screamfest horror film festival this Saturday, October 12th.

With Houde and Daulby directing from a script they co-wrote with Peter Roumeliotis, this gripping psychological thriller taps into timely societal fears surrounding social media, surveillance, and the growing disconnect between urban and rural communities – themes that have become increasingly resonant in our hyperconnected, often isolating digital age.

Starring Brenna D’Amico (Descendants), Carter Glade (“Better Call Saul”) and introducing Sid Noelle, the film follows a hip, influencer couple whose routine motel stay takes a chilling turn when they discover they are being observed, leading to sinister and unexpected consequences.

In anticipation of the film’s screening at Screamfest, CinemaChords sat down with one of its stars, D’Amico, to dicuss how Adjoining promises to unsettle and provoke, challenging audiences to confront their own complicity in this voyeuristic culture and and the dangerous consequences that can arise when the boundaries between public and private life become dangerously blurred in our technology-driven world.
