Neon Acquires Stephen Soderbergh’s Sundance Sensation Paranomal Chiller ‘PRESENCE’

Neon has picked up the rights to Stephen Soderbergh‘s (Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Erin Brockovich, The Limey) paranormal chiller Presence following its world premiere at Sundance last week, where it was met with strong reviews across the board.

Directed by Soderbergh and written by David Koepp (Stir of Echoes, Panic Room, Dark Angel), the film revolves around a family who, on moving into a suburban home, become convinced that they are not alone. A supernatural force has infiltrated the house and taken a specific interest in the couple’s daughter. Shot in just 3 weeks, nearly entirely within one house, and without any closeups, to create the desired chilling atmosphere, the film stars Lucy Liu (Cypher, Rise), Chris Sullivan (Agnes, I Trapped the Devil), Callina Liang (“Tell Me Everything”), Julia Fox (No Sudden Move, Puppet), Eddy Maday, and West Mulholland (Dark Harvest).

Julie M. Anderson and Ken Meyer produce the film, with Koepp and Corey Bayes serving as executive producers, H.H. Cooper as co-producer and Gus Gustafson, Samara Levenstein and Claire Kenny as associate producers.
