The Greatest Evil in The Conjuring Universe Returns in First Trailer for ‘†HE NUИ II’

Warner Bros. Pictures has debuted the first chilling trailer for †HE NUИ II, a sequel to Corin Hardy’s spin-off/prequel of The Conjuring 2.

Directed by Michael Chaves (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Curse of La Llorona), from a script by Akela Cooper (M3gan, Malignant), and starring Taissa Farmiga (The Final Girls, “American Horror Story”) and Storm Reid (“Euphoria”, The Invisible Man), the ninth installment in The Conjuring Universe franchise takes place in 1956, in the wake of a murdered priest, with Sister Irene (Farmiga) coming face-to-face with the demon Valak (Bonnie Aarons) once more.

Jonas Bloquet reprises his role as Maurice whilst new additions to the cast include Katelyn Rose Downey (The Chronicles of Narnia) and Anna Popplewell (The Princess). Cooper wrote the screenplay with current revisions by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing who both penned The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Eli and episodes of “The Walking Dead”.

Atomic Monster’s James Wan and The Safran Company’s Peter Safran will produce. Judson Scott will oversee for Atomic Monster with Michael Clear and Gary Dauberman executive producing.

Hardy’s †HE NUИ remains the highest grossing film in The Conjuring franchise so expectations are high for Chaves’ sequel which will be unleashed in theaters on September 8, 2023.
