International Guests Confirmed for 57TH BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL

Just a few days away from the 57th BFI London Film Festival and we are excited to hear that yet even more actors and directors will be stopping by to join the already long list of talent planning to grace the red carpet. This year’s event will play host to talent including Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Jason Reitman, Tom Hiddleston, Jesse Eisenberg, John Curran, Dane DeHaan, Alex Gibney, Greg Wise, Robin Wright, Ari Folman, Anna Kendrick, Emily Mortimer, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Charlie Cox, Jodie Whittaker, Christian Cooke, Annabelle Wallis, Tahar Rahim, David Thewlis and Terry Gilliam. Joining the stellar line up planned for the Festival’s Closing Night film, the World Premiere of Saving Mr. Banks, will be the Colin Farrell and Ruth Wilson.

All of the abovementioned talent will be attending the event to join a plethora of guests who have already been announced: Paul Greengrass, Tom Hanks, Barkhad Abdi, Barry Ackroyd, John Lee Hancock, Emma Thompson, Alison Owen, Stephen Frears, Judi Dench, Steve Coogan, Steve McQueen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfonso Cuarón, David Heyman, Sandra Bullock, Joel & Ethan Coen, Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Ralph Fiennes, Abdellatif Kechiche, Léa Seydoux, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Alain Guiraudie, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Alexander Payne, Lukas Moodysson, Glenda Jackson, Peter Brook and Daniel Radcliffe.

By the end of the 12 day event, the 57th BFI London Film Festival will have played host to in excess of 500 special guests, including over 110 actors, more than 150 directors for all 235 feature films on show.

A plethora of filmmakers will be putting in appearances to support their involvement in feature films up for one of the major awards, the Official Competition for Best Film. Guests will include: Catherine Breillat and Isabelle Huppert for Abuse of Weakness; Richard Ayoade, Yasmin Paige, Craig Roberts, Noah Taylor for The Double; Pawel Pawlikowski for Ida; Hirokazu Kore-eda for Like Father, Like Son; Ritesh Batra for The Lunchbox; Jahmil X.T. Qubeka, Mothusi Magano, Petronella Tshuma for Of Good Report; Ahmad Abdalla, Asser Yassin for Rags and Tatters; Clio Barnard, Conner Chapman and Shaun Thomas for The Selfish Giant; Peter Landesman for Parkland; David Mackenzie and Jonathan Asser for Starred Up; John Curran for Tracks and Jonathan Glazer for Under The Skin.

Some of the films receiving praise on the international festival circuit will also be supported by visits from their directors: Steven Knight with Locke, after such critical success in Venice and Toronto; Golden Bear winner Călin Peter Netzer will be supporting Child’s Pose; Silver Bear winner Danis Tanović shall be attending in support of An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker, whilst Sebastián Lelio will be presenting Gloria, a Berlin favourite. Morgan Neville will also be on hand to present his Sundance hit Twenty Feet From Stardom, whilst Mariana Rondón, this year’s San Sebastian Concha de Oro (Golden Shell) Winner will be supporting Bad Hair.
