First Trailer for ‘BOY KILLS WORLD’: Bill Skarsgård Vows Vengeance in a Corrupt Post-Apocalyptic Dynasty

Roadside Attractions today debuts the first official trailer for Moritz Mohr’s feature directorial debut, the dystopian fever dream actioner Boy Kills World.

Mohr brings to life a dark world of corruption and vengeance with Bill Skarsgård (John Wick: Chapter 4, Barbarian)taking on the haunting role of “Boy,” a young man left mute and deaf after his family is brutally murdered by the deranged Hilda Van Der Koy (Famke Janssen – the Taken franchise). As the matriarch of a twisted dynasty, she rules with an iron fist, culling any who dare resist her. Driven by his inner voice, one which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Yayan RuhianThe Raid franchise) to become an instrument of death and is set loose on the eve of the annual culling of dissidents. Bedlam ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and blood-letting. As he navigates this chaotic world, Boy falls in with a desperate resistance group, all while haunted by the apparent ghost of his defiant sister.

The stellar ensemble cast is rounded out by Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day, Body Brokers), Michelle Dockery (The Gentlemen, “Downton Abbey”), Sharlto Copley (Elysium, Beast), Brett Gelman (“Stranger Things”), Isaiah Mustafa (It Chapter Two), and Andrew Koji (Bullet Train).

Boy Kills World is produced by Sam Raimi, Roy Lee, Simon Swart, Alex Lebovici, Stuart Manashil, Wayne Fitzjohn, Zainab Azizi, and Dan Kagan.

The film premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 26, 2024.
