‘EYE FOR AN EYE’ Trailer Promises Small-Town Supernatural Chills with a Gothic Fairy Tale Twist

Vertical has just unveiled the chilling trailer for Colin Tilley‘s latest supernatural thriller, Eye for an Eye, set to debut on June 20th in select theaters and On Demand. Said trailer teases a fresh take on small-town horror, blending classic genre elements with the eerie aesthetics and narrative of a gothic fairy tale.

Directed by veteran music video director Tilley, known for his work with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Zendaya, Eye for an Eye is adapted from a graphic novel by author and artist Elisa Victoria, who also penned the screenplay. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Whitney Peak (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Hocus Pocus 2), S. Epatha Merkerson (“Chicago Med,” Jacob’s Ladder), Golda Rosheuvel (“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” Dune), Laken Giles (“All the Weekend’s Drama”), and Finn Bennett (Warfare, “True Detective: Night Country”).

The film follows Anna (Peak), a New York transplant who moves to a quiet, small town in Florida to live with her grandmother (Merkerson) after the sudden death of her parents. Feeling adrift and isolated, Anna soon finds herself entangled with a group of local teenagers, including characters played by Bennett and Giles. What begins as a search for belonging quickly spirals into a nightmarish ordeal when Anna becomes an unwitting witness to a horrific act of violence.

As Anna delves deeper into the town’s unsettling history, she uncovers the terrifying truth behind its local folklore – specifically the legend of “Mr. Sandman.” This vengeful entity, the tormented spirit of a child from the town’s past with a gruesome penchant for revenge and eyeballs, appears to be all too real. The more Anna unearths about Mr. Sandman, the closer she gets to uncovering dark secrets about her own family’s past.

Produced by Ley Line Entertainment, the studio behind Everything Everywhere All at Once, Eye for an Eye promises a shuddersome creature feature experience that’s sure to touch an optic nerve or two when it hits theaters and On Demand this June 20th.
