Jamie Webster Drops ‘Across The River’ Single: Your New Boss-Hating, Joy-Spreading Summer Soundtrack

Liverpool’s own Jamie Webster is back with ‘Across The River,’ a vibrant anthem filled with defiant joy and the universal dream of escaping the daily grind. His first new release of 2025, this feel-good track is set to be the soundtrack of your summer, blending aspirational anthems with Webster’s trademark everyman spirit.

Following the success of his UK Top Ten album 10 For The People in 2024, Webster has continued to build a global following, revelling in a winter tour to Australia and being immersed in autumn’s colours across Europe. With massive performances, including a sold-out show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, his message of unity and resilience is resonating far and wide.

Teaming up with Kieran Shudall of Circa Waves, their productive writing sessions resulted in Across The River, an upbeat, dopamine-fueled anthem celebrating strength in tough times and the joy of living in the moment. “It’s a song that collective joy, inspired by a chat with a hugely intelligent mate about what elements of our existence can be truly universal. It’s about defiance, about all of us, no matter who we are and what our bank balance is, wanting to find that little stretch of warm, blue sea once our work is done,” Webster says.

The song’s title reflects a universal yearning for something better. It “comes from the feeling of looking across at the other side, wondering whether the grass is greener,” says Webster. “Perhaps above all, this is a direct address to the fans that have stuck by me, our collective joy. We’ve been on this ride together, we’ll always remember it and we’ll always be together.”

The music video (below) features James Nelson-Joyce from BBC’s This City Is Ours, continuing Webster’s collaboration with Liverpool talent.

With festival season just around the corner, Webster’s summer schedule is packed, including his fourth consecutive appearance at Glastonbury and a run of outdoor shows supporting James.

Get ready for a summer of unity and defiance with Jamie Webster and ‘Across The River.’
