Psychological Horror ‘MOM’ Unveils Official Trailer: Fresh Take on Motherhood Anxieties, Starring Emily Hampshire

Blue Finch Film Releasing has today unveiled the official trailer for the psychological shocker, Mom. Helmed by first-time feature director Adam O’Brien, known for his contributions to the horror anthology genre through projects such as Zombieworld and A Night of Horror: Nightmare Radio, the movie marks an exciting new chapter in his career. In a genre currently brimming with stories exploring the anxieties of motherhood, the film, written by Philip Kalin-Hajdu (Game of Death) and based on an original concept by Albert I. Melamed (Lady Psycho Killer), Nathan Oliver (The Zombies are Coming to Town!, Lady Psycho Killer), and Taylor Sardoni (Last Straw), promises a fresh, innovative take on familiar tropes.

Starring Emily Hampshire (Humane, “Chapelwaite”), François Arnaud (“Yellowjackets”, “The Borgias”), and Christian Convery (The Monkey, Cocaine Bear), Mom tells the story of a mother left to cope alone after a traumatic event. As she descends into isolation, a malevolent entity forces her to relive her worst fears.

Filmed in 27 days in August 2019 in Montreal, Canada, Mom went on to premiere at Glasgow FrightFest in 2024, earning critical acclaim, particularly for Hampshire’s standout performance. The film also garnered Jury Awards at the Hellifax Horror Fest.

Mom will be available on digital platforms from February 17 via Blue Finch Film Releasing.
