A24 Drops New Trailer for Brady Corbet’s Golden Globes Triumph ‘THE BRUTALIST’

A24 has just dropped a brand-new trailer for The Brutalist, an epic American story directed by Brady Corbet (The Childhood of a Leader, Vox Lux), which has already taken home the awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor at the Golden Globes. The film made its world premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 1, where it competed for the prestigious Golden Lion and earned the Silver Lion for Corbet’s direction.

Co-written by Corbet and Mona Fastvold (who also collaborated on The Childhood of a Leader and Vox Lux), the film stars Adrien BrodyFelicity JonesGuy PearceJoe AlwynRaffey CassidyStacy MartinEmma Laird, with Isaach De Bankolé, and Alessandro Nivola. The Brutalist follows László Toth (Brody), a visionary architect who escapes post-war Europe for America, determined to rebuild his life, career, and marriage to his wife, Erzsébet (Jones). Separated by the turmoil of war and shifting borders, László and Erzsébet reunite in a foreign country. Settling in Pennsylvania, László’s incredible talent catches the eye of wealthy industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren (Pearce). But with success and legacy comes a heavy cost.

The Brutalist, now playing in select cities, including some special 70mm screenings, was shot using the VistaVision process, which captures images horizontally on 35mm film before scanning them for 70mm prints. Corbet chose this method to authentically evoke the 1950s, using techniques from that era. Staying true to this vision, the film is also structured in two acts with a 15-minute intermission, adding to its vintage feel.
