Filmmakers Celine Held and Logan George’s (“Servant”, Topside, “Dark Matter”) Max Original film, Caddo Lake, is all set to chill audiences when it debuts this Thursday, October 10th, 2024.
Inspired by an online photograph of the real Caddo Lake, the film, written and directed by Held and George, and produced by M. Night Shyamalan‘s Blinding Edge Pictures, chronicles how a series of past deaths and disappearances start to link together after an eight-year-old girl mysteriously vanishes, forever altering a broken family’s history.
Caddo Lake stars Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner, Love and Monsters), Eliza Scanlen (Old, The Devil All the Time), Diana Hopper (“Goliath”, Bit), Caroline Falk, Sam Hennings (Four Good Days, The Neon Highway), with Eric Lange (“Brand New Cherry Flavor”, Antebellum), and Lauren Ambrose (“Servant”, “Yellowjackets”).
In anticipation of the film releasing this week, CinemaChords’ sat down with Held and George who shared with us how a simple yet powerful visual sparked their imagination and prompted them to write a feature film. They also revealed the other key elements they incorporated into the story to make it work within this original setting and how the renowned master of surprise, M. Night Shyamalan, provided invaluable wisdom on navigating the twists and turns of the narrative to create a gripping, satisfying viewing experience akin to many of his own projects.
