Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan Set to Wax On/Jacket Off in All-New Karate Kid Film Instalment

Despite Karate Kid/”Cobra Kai” star Ralph Macchio having publicly expressed his opinion that the 2010 Karate Kid reboot starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan “should have been called The Kung Fu Kid”, both Macchio and Chan are attached to star in an all-new Karate Kid movie.

Both actors will reprises their respective roles from the films but all other plot details have been kept firmly under wraps. What we do know, thank to a hilarious video from the actors themselves is that a global search has begun to find the next “Karate Kid”. Anyone with high hopes of continuing the Karate Kid legacy can head over to karatekidcasting.com for all the casting details.

Jonathan Entwistle (“The End of the F***ing World”) is attached to direct the as-yet-untitled film from a script penned by Rob Lieber (“The Goldbergs”, Peter Rabbit), with Karen Rosenfelt producing.

The film is scheduled to release on 13 December 2024 from Sony Pictures.
