Rosborough Talks Rediscovering his More Ferocious Musical Fervour and Forthcoming Album “Every Memory”

After chancing upon a ‘Learn the Guitar in Three Chords’ book at home in his prime, strumming his his way through “Johnny B Good” served as the perfect outlet for Derry singer/songwriter Rosborough; so much so that it wasn’t long before he found himself being snuck into pubs and small venues via fire escapes to play intimate half-hour acoustic sets at the tender age of 12.

Not long after that, he took the plunge and decided his best move was to quit school at 16 to study music at a local Technical College. And he’s never looked back, hugely benefitting from the decision as the chance to cut his own demos and play countless live gigs allowed him to experiment with and study his own playing rather than just reel off as many new songs as possible.

Fast forward to the present, and despite a fleeting period in which he lost interest in making music due to the Covid lockdown situation, Rosborough’s musical virtues have returned to the fore. And, if the first two singles released so far this year are anything to go by, things have taken a decidedly more punk-driven turn.

To celebrate his latest single ‘It’s Always Something’ – by far his feistiest release to date – CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman caught up with Rosborough, who opened up about his roots, what prompted his musical hiatus during lockdown, the genesis behind his recent shift to a somewhat heavier style, before he went on to reveal something we weren’t expecting to hear just yet: What we can expect from his forthcoming album ‘Every Memory’, which is due out next month.

You can keep up to date with all things Rosborough on Spotify, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
