Trailer for Seductive Drama ‘PASSAGES’ Navigates the Complexities and Cruelties of Love and Desire

Global film distributor, streaming service and production company MUBI has today unveiled a new trailer for Ira Sachs‘ (Frankie, Love is Strange) seductive drama Passages, a revealing and intimate look at the complexities, contradictions and cruelties of love and desire.

Directed by Sachs (Love is Strange, Little Men), from a script he co-wrote with Mauricio Zachariasm, the film stars BAFTA winner Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Paddington, Women Talking), Franz Rogowski (Great Freedom, Transit, Victoria) and Palme d’Or winner Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue is the Warmest Colour, The Five Devils). Set in Paris, Passages centres on Tomas (Rogowski) and Martin (Whishaw), a gay couple whose marriage plunges into chaos when Tomas begins a passionate affair with Agathe (Exarchopoulos), a younger woman he meets after finishing his latest film.

Passages had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for Best Feature Film at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival.

The film is produced by Saïd Ben Saïd (Elle, Bacarau) and Michel Merkt (Toni Erdmann) and is scheduled for a UK and Ireland theatrical run on 1 September 2023.
