Freshly back from a tour of Australia and New Zealand this month, and hot on the tail of the recent release of the single ‘The Poppies Strike Back’, Pop Will Eat Itself have today released ‘Chihuahua’, described as “a full-frontal audio assault with friendly lyrical advice for a little shouty fella who thinks he’s Jason Statham in Wrath Of Man.”
According to the band’s press statement, the latest track finds audacious classical sampling and Latin percussion mixed with lounge-style sax, “all the ingredients for a high society easy-listening soiree, except Chihuahua’s hard-hitting instrumentation and devastating sub bass, gatecrash the party & make for an edgy evening of spilt drinks, drunken insults and annoying yappy dogs pissing up your leg. Woof.”

PWEI will soon be hitting the road again in October and December with their Lucky 7 UK tour which will see the band playing 7 tracks from their 1989 album ” This Is the Day…This Is the Hour…This Is This! “, 7 tracks from 1990’s “Cure for Sanity” and 7 Bonus Bangers from their humongous back catalogue. 2023 will also see them playing a very special “All Killer … No Filler” Greatest Hits Set at Manchester Academy 2, with support from CUD and Collapsed Lung.
