Buckle Up for NIGHTRIDE’s Official Trailer

Brainstorm Media has just released the official trailer and poster for BAFTA-nominated director Stephen Fingleton‘s (The Survivalist) real-time one-shot thriller NIGHTRIDE.

Written by Ben Conway and starring Moe Dunford (“Vikings”, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)) and Joana Ribeiro (“The Man Who Fell to Earth”, Infinite), Nightride is a wry real-time one-shot thriller that takes place on the midnight streets of Belfast, placing the audience directly in the driver’s seat with smalltime dealer Budge (Dunford) as he tries to pull one last deal with cash borrowed from a dangerous loan shark. When the handover goes catastrophically wrong, Budge finds himself in a race against time to find his missing product and get a new buyer before the loan shark tracks him down.

Commenting on the film, Fingleton said “To any cinephile, the story and setup of Nightride is an obvious mélange of LOCKE and PUSHER. The former is a one-man, car-phone thriller brilliantly written (and somewhat competently directed) by Steve Knight; the latter is Nic Refn’s fabulous low-budget breezeblock about a dealer trying to save his skin after a deal with borrowed money goes terribly wrong. To make matters technically interesting, we introduced two innovations, neither of which were revolutionary in themselves, but combined led to something greater than the sum of its parts. The film would be shot for real, with an actor actually driving on the streets as he performs; and the other was that we would shoot and perform it in a single take.”

The film will bow in select theaters and On Demand on March 4 and, in the meantime, we’ll leave you with the official trailer.
