IFC Films & Shudder Acquire Cameron & Colin Cairnes’ Acclaimed Shocker ‘LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL’

IFC Films and Shudder have acquired the rights to Image Nation Abu Dhabi and Spooky Pictures’ supernatural horror Late Night with the Devil, written directed and edited by Australian filmmakers Cameron and Colin Cairnes (100 Bloody Acres, Scare Campaign). The rights will cover North America, UK and Ireland, with plans to release the film exclusively in theaters. The film will stream on Shudder at a later date. 

The film is headed up by David Dastmalchian (The Suicide Squad, Oppenheimer), who plays charismatic late-night talk show host Jack Delroy, whose live show unwittingly ushers evil into the nation’s living rooms.

The cast also features Laura Gordon (Saw V, Streamline), Ian Bliss (Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions), Fayssal Bazzi (“Shantaram,” “Stateless”), Ingrid Torelli (“The End”), Rhys Auteri , Georgina Haig (“Snowpiercer,” “Limitless”) and Josh Quong Tart (Scare Campaign, Little Monsters).

Late Night with the Devil first screened to rave reviews at SXSW and went on to win over audiences at the Fantasia Festival in Montreal, the Sydney Film Festival, BIFAN in Korea, Sitges, the London Film Festival and Toronto After Dark, to name but a few. The film took home the Best Screenplay award at Sitges as well as numerous accolades at Toronto After Dark, including Best Feature Film and Best Actor for Dastmalchian. The film is also currently sitting at 100% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film is produced by Derek Dauchy, Mat Govoni, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, Adam White, John Molloy and David Dastmalchian for Image Nation Abu Dhabi, Spooky Pictures, Future Pictures and Good Fiend Films. 

The deal for the film was negotiated by Cinetic Media on behalf of the filmmakers and Emily Gotto and Adam Koehler on behalf of IFC Films and Shudder. AGC is representing international sales of the film at AFM.
