Prime Video‘s eagerly-anticipated musical drama series “Daisy Jones & The Six”, adapted from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s eponymous bestselling novel, is all set to have audiences fall in love with a band that’s hard to believe never actually existed in the ’70s. On top of that, the band will also be releasing a bonafide debut LP, “Aurora”, on Atlantic Records this Friday, helmed under the professional wing of writer/producer Blake Mills, who brought together a host of talented collaborators including Phoebe Bridgers, Madison Cunningham, Marcus Mumford and Jackson Browne to compose a collection of stirring, nostalgic and timeless tracks that are just as infectious as so many of the songs that became emphatic anthems back in the day.
Elated over the fact that an album she dreamed up for her novel became a reality, Reid described the album as, “A snapshot of time, intoxicating and dangerous. That delicious moment that you know can’t last… Daisy Jones and The Six are real. And they are better than my wildest dreams.”

In 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six were on the crest of a wave. Fronted by two charismatic lead singers – the beautiful and free-spirited Daisy Jones (Keough) and the obsessive and controlling heart-throb of the group Billy Dunne (Claflin) – the band experienced a whirlwind rise from obscurity to fame. And then, after a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they called it quits. Now, decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth, disclosing exactly how an iconic band imploded at the absolute height of their popularity.
In anticipation of “Daisy Jones & The Six” premiering exclusively on Prime Video on March 3, 2023 with new episodes rolling out on a weekly basis, every Friday through March 24, CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman stepped back in time with Keough, Claflin, Morrone, Waterhouse, Whitehouse, Chacon, Be and Wright. Each regular cast member explained their deep dives into the ’70s music scene to help shape their characters so as to create a series that is so authentic that it feels like you’re watching a biopic chronicling the rise of a band that would have fit right in during that era; an era that welcomed a profusion of musical innovation and diversity, resulting in the emergence of myriad new music genres that would go on to remain staples to this day.
