Time To Wake Him Up: RoboCop Trailer #2

In yet another stride for Hollywood to relive and recreate all of its cult treasures from the past, we have a second trailer for RoboCop 2014.

After stagnating in development with multiple directors and production problems, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and might just be the genuine article if the trailer is any indication. We mainly see glimpses of inspirational tyrant Pat Novak (Samuel L.Jackson) alongside creator of RoboCop Dr .Dennett Norton (Gary Oldman), but the cast seems to be star-studded with supporting roles from the likes of Michael KeatonJackie Earle Haley, with the somewhat obscure Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman filling the boots of the eponymous RoboCop.

The story is primarily said to be a modern re-imagining of the original. RobCop is already a fantastic story, and little needs to be done in that department. It’s a pretty safe assumption that the technology we have in cinema today will be able to breathe some life into the film’s futuristic and dystopian themes quite well, while retaining its cool exterior. But, while there are quite a few Hollywood veterans in the cast, director Jose Padilha is not a certainty, with his entire filmography consisting of mostly directed low budget Portuguese films. That being said, the trailer seems to be somewhat more than fans were expecting. RoboCop hits cinemas 7th February, 2014. Until then, sit back, don’t move, or there will be trouble. Thank you for your cooperation…
