Thom Yorke & Mark Pritchard Drop “This Conversation…” Single Ahead of “Tall Tales” LP Release

Legends collide.

Mark Pritchard, the architect of ’90s electronica, and Thom Yorke, The Smile and Radiohead frontman, have dropped This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice, a haunting harbinger of their debut album, Tall Tales, out May 9th on Warp.

Forget polite collaborations. This is a head-on collision of sonic mastery. Pritchard, fresh from unearthing “archaic machines” in synth archives, weaves a tapestry of “atemporal compositions,” while Yorke’s vocals explore “dark, introspective storytelling,” landing somewhere between a whispered confession and a chilling prophecy.

“This Conversation…” premiered on 6 Music, arrives with another mind-bending visual from Jonathan Zawada, the duo’s “third member.” Zawada’s hyperreal landscapes, a digital fever dream of organic decay and dystopian beauty, fuel a feature-length film set for global cinema screenings. Expect unease, expect awe.

“Tall Tales” isn’t just an album; it’s a multimedia experience. From the limited vinyl with a 36-page Zawada-designed booklet, to the film’s stark visuals, this project dissects our “insatiable appetite for ‘progress’” with surgical precision.

Following the success of 2016’s Beautiful People and last month’s Back In The Game, Tall Tales marks Yorke’s debut with Warp Records, solidifying a collaboration that continues to break new ground. Far from your typical supergroup, this project offers a unique blend of sonic exploration, striking visuals, and a timely message, all wrapped into a 12-track masterpiece.
