‘THE CROW’ Rises: Bill Skarsgård’s Astonishing Transformation as Eric Draven

Can’t rain all the time…

The first look at Bill Skarsgård’s transformation into the vengeful rocker Eric Draven in the upcoming Rupert Sanders (Ghost in the Shell, Snow White and the Huntsman) remake of The Crow offers a tantalizing glimpse at the gothic world of the cult comic book adaptation. With his painted face and sweeping black coat, Skarsgård embodies the darkly romantic antihero famously portrayed by Brandon Lee in the 1994 original. Joining him is FKA Twigs as Shelly Webster, Draven’s soulmate who meets a tragic end.

According to the official synopsis, the star-crossed lovers are “brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them.” Given a chance to avenge their deaths, Draven returns from the grave to deliver merciless payback to those who wronged them.

Directed by Sanders, from a screenplay penned by Zach Baylin (Bob Marley: One Love, Gran Turismo, Creed III) and William Joseph Scheider (who has also written the forthcoming Return to Silent Hill), this re-imagining of James O’Barr’s graphic novel promises to be a visually stunning trip into the realms of both the living and the dead.

The cast is rounded out with Danny Huston, Isabella Wei, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila and Jordan Bolger whilst serving producers are Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell, John Jencks and the late Samuel Hadida and Ed Pressman.

This modern re-imagining of the cult classic will take flight in theaters this June 7 so we’re guessing a trailer will be arriving faster you can say, “”Don’t move” Snow White.”
