Starsailor Announce All The Plans To Celebrate 25 Years with Special Live Shows and a UK Tour

Since their debut in 2000, Starsailor have been a mainstay in the UK’s alternative rock scene, delivering hit albums and iconic tracks that have resonated with fans for decades. From their chart-topping Love Is Here and Silence Is Easy to unforgettable singles like “Silence Is Easy,” “Alcoholic,” “Four To The Floor,” and “Good Souls,” the band’s impact is undeniable. They’ve won awards, toured with The Rolling Stones, and created a legacy that endures to this day. Now, as they approach their 25th anniversary, Starsailor are ready to celebrate their past while looking to the future with exciting new plans.

Kicking off their anniversary celebrations, Starsailor will play two special shows at Liverpool’s state-of-the-art Tung Auditorium on February 15th. These performances will offer fans a unique experience, with both a matinee and evening show, each featuring a string ensemble conducted by Joe Duddell. Duddell, known for his work with New Order, Elbow, and Richard Hawley, will add an extra layer of depth to Starsailor’s already rich sound. The ensemble will complement the band’s performance in the acoustically optimised venue, making for an unforgettable evening. The use of strings is a nod to the band’s early work, particularly their critically acclaimed second album Silence Is Easy, which featured orchestral arrangements that became a signature of the band’s sound.

James Walsh, the band’s frontman, expressed his excitement for the collaboration, saying, “We wanted to do something special to mark 25 years together as a band, and knowing Joe Duddell’s fantastic reputation as a string arranger, working with bands like Elbow and James, over the years we knew he’d be a great collaborator. When the prestigious Tung Hall became available, it seemed like the perfect storm. Strings play a huge part in our second album ‘Silence Is Easy,’ so it’s a nod to our past too. We can’t wait!”

Starsailor’s 25th anniversary celebrations don’t end in Liverpool. The band has just announced a UK headline tour for November 2025, bringing their live show to fans across the country. Tickets for all upcoming shows are now available for purchase.

Since the release of their most recent album Where The Wild Things Grow in March 2024, Starsailor have been busy performing across the globe, including a sold-out UK headline tour and a series of major festival appearances. They’ve even made a mark internationally, performing at the Busan International Rock Festival in South Korea, and as guests to Blondie at The Piece Hall in Halifax. The band is currently completing a European headline tour, having played in Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, and Italy.

Starsailor’s upcoming UK shows will continue to showcase their powerful new material as well as their extensive catalogue of fan favorites. The band, still made up of its original members—James Walsh (vocals/guitar), James Stelfox (bass), Ben Byrne (drums), and Barry Westhead (keyboards)—are poised to deliver a performance that blends their rich history with the dynamic energy and maturity of their latest work.
