Shudder’s Night of the Reaper Unleashes a Retro Suburban Nightmare in Official Trailer

Think your quiet ’80s suburban street was safe? Think again. Shudder’s new original horror Night of the Reaper takes the classic babysitting-gone-wrong premise and cranks it up to full-on nightmare mode. The trailer has dropped, and it’s a tantalizing tease of neon-lit terror, cryptic clues, and a killer who plays by his own rules. Streaming exclusively September 19th, this one is shaping up to be a must-watch for horror fans with a penchant for retro chills.

The story centers on college student Deena (Jessica Clement), who reluctantly accepts a last-minute babysitting gig. Meanwhile, the local sheriff (Ryan Robbins) receives a mysterious package that sets off a deadly scavenger hunt. As the night unfolds, Deena finds herself in a deadly cat-and-mouse game. The supporting cast includes Summer H. Howell, Matty Finochio, Max Christensen, Ben Cockell, Bryn Samuel, Savannah Miller, Susan Serrao, Huxley Fisher, Isla Spencer, Blair Young, and Drake Seipert.

Directed and co-written by Brandon Christensen (with Ryan Christensen), Night of the Reaper fuses retro ’80s horror vibes with edge-of-your-seat modern suspense. Lock in September 19th — Deena’s babysitting nightmare is set to turn your quiet night in into one of the most terrifying nights you’ll spend at home this year.
