Shockingly Succinct Teaser for Steven Soderbergh’s Spectral Chiller ‘PRESENCE’ Takes Us Through the Keyhole

NEON has just debuted a new, shockingly succinct teaser for the psychological shocker Presence, the new film by Palme d’Or and Oscar winner Steven Soderbergh. The mastermind behind such celebrated films as The Limey, Logan Lucky, Sex, Lies and Videotape, Traffic, Behind the Candelabra, Contagion, and Erin Brockovich, now turns his attention to a tale of domestic unease.

Directed by Soderbergh, from a screenplay written by David Koepp (Panic Room, Stir of Echoes, Jurassic Park, Dark Angel), and shot entirely in the first-person perspective, this slow-burning spectral thriller centers on a family who, on relocating to a seemingly idyllic suburban home, become increasingly convinced that they are not alone in their new abode.

The film stars Lucy Liu (Kill Bill: Vol. 1, “Elementary”, Cypher), Chris Sullivan (Broadcast Signal Intrusion, “This Is Us”, Agnes), Callina Liang (Bad Genius), Eddy Maday, West Mulholland (Dark Harvest, A Great Divide), and Julia Fox (Uncut Gems, No Sudden Move) and is produced by Julie M. Anderson and Ken Meyer.

Following its success at the latest Sundance and Toronto festivals (where, though well-received, some viewers walked out due to the film’s intensity), Presence will released in select theaters in the United States on January 17, 2025, before expanding wide on January 24, 2025.
