Richard Ashcroft has today lifted the curtain on Lovin’ You, his brand new studio album dropping October 3rd, 2025. The announcement lands as he gears up to join Oasis on the year’s most biblical stadium tour — a seismic reunion of indie-rock heavyweights whose shared history stretches back to the halcyon days when Britpop ruled the airwaves.
Lovin’ You is Ashcroft’s first collection of original material since 2018’s Natural Rebel and follows 2021’s Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1, which reimagined highlights from across his career. This time, he’s diving headfirst into fresh territory, weaving together classic acoustic balladry, anthemic indie-rock, and unexpected touches of soul, Americana, and glitchy electro beats.
Leading the charge is the first single “Lover,” already picking up nationwide radio play. The track reworks Joan Armatrading’s “Love And Affection” into something both familiar and brand new — a move Armatrading herself praised: “I love how he’s used my song and I love his song.”
The rest of Lovin’ You promises similarly intimate and heartfelt themes: love, romance, and messages of solidarity for anyone navigating life’s rougher edges. Across its tracklist, Ashcroft collaborates with longtime producer Chris Potter and Emre Ramazanoglu, while the album’s also includes the track “I’m A Rebel,” co-written and produced with Mirwais (perhaps best-known for his work with Madonna).
Fans can already pre-order Lovin’ You on standard black vinyl, CD, and digital formats here. For the collectors out there, there’s a rainbow of vinyl variants: neon orange via his official store, a regular orange edition exclusive to Amazon UK, and a limited blue pressing for independent record shops.
This new chapter unfolds as Ashcroft steps into the summer with Oasis, rekindling a bond forged in the crucible of the ‘90s, when The Verve and the Gallagher brothers first collided on stage and helped define a generation of British music. The tour has already sold out every date across the UK and Ireland, including multi-night runs at Wembley Stadium, Heaton Park, and Croke Park.
With over thirty years in the game and three UK Number 1 albums to prove it, Richard Ashcroft remains one of British music’s most unmistakable voices. From the soaring ache of “Bitter Sweet Symphony” to the quiet sorrow of “The Drugs Don’t Work,” his songs have etched themselves into the culture, soundtracking everything from late-night confessions to festival sunsets. Two Ivor Novello Awards and a cascade of platinum discs stand as evidence of a legacy that contines to gather momentum.
