Noteworthy Nods #8

Thursday can only mean one thing at CinemaChords: “Noteworthy Nods” is back with another compilation of 20 brand new bangers that we haven’t stopped listening to (or humming around the office) this week.

Last Thursday’s playlist included releases from SLIXHoneybadgerHarrison RimmerThe Pylons, and 32 Tens, to name just a few, and you can catch up with that over here if you missed it. Once again this week, I suffered a severe case of favorite new track overload syndrome (not that I’m complaining, of course) making it nigh impossible to choose only 20 from goodness knows how many first-rate recent releases. But, after having them on repeat play in the office for the past few days (and nights), we’ve gone with the latest tunes from the likes of Serenades, The Manatees, Ten Hands High, Tablefox, Transistor, and Monakis, as well as two debut singles from a couple of new bands we’re sure we’ll all be hearing loads more about soon, Lucky Number You and Small Talk.

We hope you enjoy our choices as much as we did this week and we’d love to know your favourites from this week’s playlist so please do give us a shout over on social media.

Aside from the aforementioned track recommendations, the brand-new Noteworthy section here on the site is where we’re also publishing weekly videocast interviews with bands who we hope are about to become your new favourite artists. The first few are now live and you can catch the first seven episodes with StanleysThe KairosThe K’sSienneThe Clause, BlackWaters, and Michael Gallagher in the video playlist below. There’s an additional bonus episode with The Sherlocks which we ran to tie in with the recent release of the band’s third album “World I Understand.”
