Today sees the release of Bo Youngblood‘s (Safer at Home, Break) enigmatic, taut and claustrophobic thriller, In Flight
Directed by Youngblood, from a script penned by John Ierardi and Drew McAnany, the films stars Tiffany Smith (Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Cristo Fernández (Apple’s Ted Lasso), Maria Russell (Freevee’s Jury Duty), and Ashley Jones (“True Blood”).
Smith plays Claire Reynolds who, feeling stagnant in her professional pursuits, was further shaken by the recent loss of her father. Recognizing the need for change, she makes the bold decision to prioritize her own desires and embark on a journey of self-discovery. This new adventure begins with a solo trip to Paris. The night before her scheduled flight, she says goodbye to her best friend and meets a handsome stranger named Marco. But when Claire suddenly wakes up on her flight to Paris, she is met with a startling realization – she has no recollection of how she arrived there and is soon handed a cryptic note warning her of a potential threat on the flight and the possibility that she may be the target.
In celebration of the film having arrived on-demand today, allowing audiences the opportunity to experience its gripping narrative from the comfort of their own homes, CinemaChords’ buckled in with Smith to discuss creating an overwhelming sense of tension within the confines of such a limited setting, how she approached creating the chemistry with her fellow actors to forge an authentic aura of unease and mutual mistrust. She also went on to reveal an forthcoming horror/dark comedy project she’s co-written that we can’t wait to see come to fruition that boasts an impressive array of talented collaborators already attached to work on it.
