Frendo’s Grin Widens: ‘CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD’ Trailer Drops Ahead of May 9 Theatrical Release

Kettle Springs Bleeds Anew: New Trailer Promises Cornfield Carnage.

So, the buzz is looking very real to us: we’ve just gotten our hands on a brand-new trailer for Clown in a Cornfield, and it’s definitely amping up the anticipation. Following its SXSW showing, RLJE Films and Shudder are giving us another look at Eli Craig‘s ( Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Little Evil) take on Adam Cesare’s acclaimed novel. And let’s be honest, it’s looking pretty intense.

The film stars Katie Douglas (Ginny & Georgia), Carson MacCormac (Shazam!), Aaron Abrams (Hannibal), Will Sasso (The Three Stooges), and Kevin Durand (AbigailKingdom of the Planet of the Apes).

The screenplay, written by Carter Blanchard and Craig, follows Quinn (Douglas) and her father (Abrams) as they move to the small town of Kettle Springs, hoping for a fresh start. However, they quickly find that the town is far from peaceful. Having been economically devastated after the Baypen Corn Syrup Factory burned down, the community is fractured, and tensions are running high. As these tensions escalate, a dark, grinning figure emerges from the cornfields—Frendo the Clown—intent on delivering a bloody reckoning to the troubled town, one victim at a time.

Based on Cesare’s original 2020 novel, Clown in a Cornfield has already made its mark with two sequels—Clown in a Cornfield II: Frendo Lives and the recent USA Today bestseller, Clown in a Cornfield III: The Church of Frendo.

Now, with this new trailer out in the wild, anticipation for the May 9, 2025, theatrical release is building. Frendo’s here, and he’s certainly not clowning around.
