Doves Soar into 2025 with ‘Cold Dreaming’ and Rapid-Sellout UK Tour (Limited Tickets Left)

As Doves prepare for the release of their much-anticipated sixth studio album, Constellations For The Lonely (pre-save here), the band’s optimism for the New Year is palpable. Their new single, Cold Dreaming, sets the stage with dramatic synths, deep beats, and orchestral layers, drawing from the golden era of psych-soul in the late ’60s and early ’70s. The track signals a shift towards a more expansive sound, while maintaining the band’s signature blend of poetic longing and emotional depth.

Despite a turbulent history of lineup changes, Cold Dreaming marks a new chapter for Doves, with Andy and Jez Williams taking the reins on vocals both in the studio and on stage. Following the release of Renegade in November 2024, fans have embraced the band’s fresh direction, and it’s reflected in the overwhelming response to their 2025 UK tour, with 12 of 16 dates selling out in record time.

Although Jimi Goodwin will not be joining the band on this tour, the trio—completing the lineup with long-time keyboardist Martin Rebelski—recorded Constellations For The Lonely together, channeling their shared ambition for a bold, new Doves album. Drawing inspiration from visionary producers like Charles Stepney and David Axelrod, the band’s new material offers a lush, cinematic soundscape, juxtaposed with themes of resilience and forgiveness. Andy Williams describes Cold Dreaming as a reflection of the personal challenges the band has faced, particularly in their journey towards reconciliation and moving forward.

The band’s intimate November tour, playing venues with an average capacity of 300, marked their first live performances since 2019. With their 2025 dates quickly becoming a hot ticket, Doves will be hitting cities across the UK from February 25.
