Brand-New Bangers: Noteworthy Nods 2025: Batch #4

Drop what you’re doing – it’s time for Noteworthy Nods, our weekly round-up of the freshest tunes blasting through the office speakers!

Last week, we had bangers from The Lathums, Courting, The Murder Capital, Lock-In, and Kyle Falconer (stay tuned for an interview with him next week). And this week? Even more killer releases! Manic Street Preachers drop Brushstrokes of Reunion today, a taste of their upcoming album Critical Thinking (out Feb 14). We’ve also got Never Know, the first track from The Kooks’ self-produced album, with frontman Luke Pritchard saying he envisions it as the soundtrack to a road trip in a convertible. And for something a little different, Good Health Good Wealth’s new single The Cafe takes you from hip brunch spots to a cozy local café, where the clink of cutlery and the smell of sizzling sausages set the scene for a break-up anthem. Spangled‘s Perfect Recluse is another must-listen—equal parts soothing and stomping, it’s a track we know will keep growing on you with every play. And those are just a few of the highlights this week.

The Noteworthy Nods section is all about discovering fresh artists. Let us know what you’re vibing with! A quick shout-out on social media helps independent musicians get noticed, and we’re always on the lookout for new tracks. Hit us up on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter—we can never get enough music!

So stop reading and hit play! Whether you’re into mellow ballads or high-energy rock, this week’s over-an-hour-long playlist has something to get you in weekend mode. Enjoy, and we’ll see you next week!

Aside from the aforementioned track recommendations, our Noteworthy section includes weekly videocast interviews featuring musical talent we hope are either already or, about to become your new favorite artists. You can watch/rewatch all previous episodes via the video playlist (here) featuring the likes of Patrick Duff, Shed Seven, Turin Brakes, Embrace, Red Rum Club, The K’s, The Sherlocks, The Slow Readers Club, Stanleys, The Native, The Clause, and many more.
