Brand-New Bangers: Noteworthy Nods 2023 – Batch 4

After a week’s hiatus, here we are again with a slightly more lavish than usual round of ‘Noteworthy Nods’, our regular round-up of the best new releases that hit the spot as soon as we heard them.

The last instalment of Nods featured some of the sizzliest new bangers from the likes of  likes of Sarpa SalpaM60ShambolicsThe K’s, Michael Gallagher ApostlesEnglish Teacher and – all of which you can still check out here if you missed it. Today’s featured tracks comprise a wide variety of singles from artists including Shape of the Sun, THE GOA EXPRESS, The Sherlocks, The Barratts, Jonny Ash, The Lutras, Coach Party, The Sheratons and Gruff Rhys.

As always, this section of the site is all about spreading the word, especially in the case of up-and-coming bands who appreciate and deserve all the support they can get, so you’d be doing them all a big favour by showing your appreciation for the music you’re enjoying on our lists by sending them some love on social media.

All it takes is a tweet, an Instagram post or even just a retweet, a token of support that it completely free and which goes a long way towards helping musicians. We’re also always grateful for any suggestions/recommendations from our readers, so please do share them with us on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. You can also contact Howard Gorman directly on Twitter here, where his DM door is always open for any recommendations.

Aside from the aforementioned track recommendations, our Noteworthy section includes weekly videocast interviews featuring musical talent we hope are either already or, about to become your new favorite artists. You can watch/rewatch all previous episodes via the video playlist below featuring the likes of Turin BrakesEmbraceThe SherlocksStanleysThe K’sThe NativeThe Clause, and many more. (Next up – The Slow Readers Club, in anticipation of the impending release of their latest LP, KNOWLEDGE FREEDOM POWER).

It’s time to sign off but don’t be a stranger! Please do send any recommendations or track submissions to us over on Twitter and Instagram. We look forward to hearing from you and hope you enjoy the tracks we’ve picked out for you this week.
