‘BAGHEAD’ Heads to Shudder as Part of the Platform’s Annual “Halfway to Halloween” Horror-thon

Baghead, the supernatural shocker directed by Alberto Corredor and from the producers of IT and Barbarian, will make its exclusive debut on Shudder on Friday, April 5. The film will debut as part of the platform’s “Halfway to Halloween” annual, monthlong horror-thon lineup and will also be available to stream on AMC+.

Directed by Corredor and adapted from the eponymous 2017 festival favourite short film, Baghead stars Freya Allan (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, “The Witcher”) and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse). The film centres on a young woman (Allen) who, following the death of her father, inherits a run-down pub and discovers a dark secret within its basement – Baghead – a shapeshifting creature that will let you speak to lost loved ones, but not without consequence.

The cast is rounded out with Ruby Barker (“Bridgerton”), Peter Mullan (Top of the Lake), Saffron Burrows (“You) and Julika Jenkins (“Dark”).

Baghead is a tale of family secrets, the depths of grief, and the things best left undisturbed in the basement,” said Corredor of the news. “I’m so excited to share this film with US audiences when it debuts on Shudder.”

The deal was negotiated by Emily Gotto on behalf of Shudder and Chloe Marquet on behalf of STUDIOCANAL.
