Apple TV+ has confirmed that “Ted Lasso” will return for its fourth season in summer 2026, officially ending months of speculation around the future of the acclaimed comedy. The streamer also shared an early glimpse (see images below) from the new season, which is currently in production and once again stars Jason Sudeikis in the title role.
Fan favourites are set to return, including Hannah Waddingham (The Fall Guy), Juno Temple (Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die), Brett Goldstein (All Of You), Brendan Hunt (Terrestrial), and Jeremy Swift (Grow), all reprising their roles from earlier seasons.
Season four will also introduce several new cast members, with Tanya Reynolds (Timestalker), Jude Mack (“Such Brave Girls”), Faye Marsay (“Andor”), Rex Hayes (“The Pact”), Aisling Sharkey (Jurassic World: Dominion), Abbie Hern (“Peaky Blinders”), and Grant Feely (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”) joining the ensemble.
The new season marks a shift in direction for the series with Ted returning to Richmond to face a fresh challenge: coaching a second-division women’s football team. Across the season, Ted and his players are pushed into unfamiliar territory, learning to take risks and embrace uncertainty in ways that test both their confidence and their sense of purpose.
Emmy Award winner Jack Burditt (“Modern Family”, “30 Rock”, “Nobody Wants This”) joins season four as an executive producer under a new overall deal with Apple TV+. Jason Sudeikis serves as star and executive producer alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel. Brett Goldstein returns as writer and executive producer, joined by Leanne Bowen.
Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh will serve as writers and producers, with Sasha Garron co-producing. Julia Lindon joins the writing team, while Dylan Marron will act as story editor. Bill Lawrence executive produces via Doozer Productions, alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer, in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television.
Since its debut, “Ted Lasso” has been one of Apple TV+’s most successful series. The first season became the most Emmy-nominated comedy series at the time, and the show went on to win Outstanding Comedy Series for its first two seasons.
