Aura Entertainment has released the trailer for The Beast, the upcoming claustrophobic action thriller from director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2), starring Samuel L. Jackson, Joel Kinnaman, Colin Morgan and Guy Burnet.
Written by Umair Aleem (The Beekeeper 2, Nobody 2), the film follows the President of the United States after a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the US. Forced to take control of the presidential limousine, the President must unlock the full extent of the vehicle’s highly classified offensive capabilities as he attempts to save his injured Secret Service agent, reunite with his wife and prevent a wider catastrophe.
Harlin said the film’s premise appealed to him because it placed its central character inside a vehicle designed to provide maximum protection, while simultaneously turning that protection into a potential trap.
“The very thing that is supposed to keep him alive becomes the place he can’t escape from.”
The director also said he wanted to contrast large-scale action outside the vehicle with the confined perspective of those inside it, allowing the audience to experience the chaos through the limousine’s armoured glass.
Aura Entertainment acquired distribution rights to The Beast at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and the film is slated for an October 9, 2026 theatrical release in the US.
